War in Afghanistan Basics

On Memorial Day this year, I decided to learn more about the War in Afghanistan. I wanted to better understand what had happened over the 20-year war.

I also wanted to understand why the Taliban regained control so quickly, and why the final withdrawal in 2021 seemed to have gone so poorly.
