Saving & Investing Basics

Recently, I’ve been thinking a lot about how to talk to my 16-year old son about money. Teaching teenagers about money is both important & challenging, and while my son doesn’t have any immediate financial problems (besides Door Dash 😊), I wanted to try to get ahead of some potential pitfalls.

For starters, I decided to outline some basic saving & investing concepts on a one-sheet document (see below).  We discussed these basics, along with the data I downloaded from both his bank account and college investment account.

We had a good chat with this info in less than an hour.  I hope the document will be helpful for others!
